Welcome to "The Geek Next Door"
This is an informative website where I, your local geek, get to share with you anything that comes to mind. At first, this website will be flexible on the items and topics that I post, but as the website matures with more content, my intention is to provide you with information about local cuisines, services, events that I recommend, reviews about electronics and gadgets that I own, blogs about things that I have experienced and “how to” guides on anything that may be helpful. So stay tune and Thank You for visiting my site!
Song of the Week!
"This is Your Night" made its debut on May, 21 1996 under Amber's first album This is Your Night. It peaked #24 in the US Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. Anytime I need to feel boosted or need a "pick me up," listening to this song certainly does the job. This song is certainly in my top 20 songs. I hope you enjoy it and Thank You SoundCloud for allowing me to embed this song into this website.
Video of the Week!
"Don't Stop the Music" released on September 7, 2007 under Rihanna's third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad. It peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and #1 on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs charts. This is the song that tuned me into Rihanna's early work and made me a fan of her's. To this day, this song and video remains on my top 20 songs ever. Enjoy!
Restaurant of the Week!
SaBaiDee - Thai Lao Cuisine
I like Thai cuisine, but when I heard and tried Laotian cuisine, I fell in love. SaBaiDee is one of the first restaurants I tried when I first moved to Fresno about 2 years ago. I have been to this restaurant over 15 times since then and the food has been consistently tasty every time I eat in or take out from this place. It is my go-to restaurant when I want this type of cuisine. Some of my favorite dishes include the Fried Pork Spareribs, Papaya Salad (Lao Style), Nam Tok (Grilled Beef Salad, Thai Style), Khao Phad Ka Pao (Basil Fried Rice), and Sticky Rice. They have other amazing and tasty dishes you just have to try.
